Entre le dernier Jimi Jamison qui sonne a donf SURVIVOR ( avec en + Peterik de partout ) et le futur Survivor qui va sortir sans Peterik et sans Jamison ,
on se demande qui est l'ombre de qui ? |

Survivor--Robin McAuley (vocals), Frankie Sullivan (guitar), Marc Droubay (drums), Michael Young (keyboards, guitars) and Billy Ozzello (bass)is currently hard at work at studios in Chicago and Los Angeles on a new studio album which they hope to release by the end of the year.
Singer Robin McAuley joined Survivor in 2006. Guitarist/founding member Frankie Sullivan knew he was the perfect person to front the band. “When we made the decision to replace Jimi Jamison,” he explained, “I had no idea what we would do. Then it hit me--Robin McAuley! Is he available? How can he possibly be available?! Can I be lucky yet again in my career to work with such a talented singer? Well, the short answer, he was available, we gave him the songs of a set list we would perform, he came to the Windy City and blew our socks off! Robin is a pure pleasure to work with and he's such a great person. With Robin, what you see is what you get. And boy do you get it!”
McAuley continued: “I'm very excited at this opportunity to sing for Survivor. I can only hope the Survivor fans give me a fighting chance. Frankie and I have worked together in the past I am extremely excited to start writing with him again and playing with a great bunch of guys. This new Survivor promises to be full of energy, and with such a stable of awesome tunes to pick from, who knows what each show will bring. I'm ready!”

Hi There...
In one word, "yes!"
The Material has never been as strong. We are about half way there and there isn't a marginal tune in the bunch. Robin and I have a few that I love and we are also waiting to write more with Billy and Nevada. It's great to be in the band where everyone is a good writer.
I've worked with Joe Vana for a few days and each time he leaves we have another killer tune in the bag. I was listening to the tunes written with Robin and Brent and they are equally the stuff.
This is where I will watch my words and allow you guys to call it as you see it. But I will tell you again it is great to be playing in a band with an entire band of writers and ideas. Since Jim and I wrote everything in the past, it's a nice change to have ideas coming in from everyone.
My dear friend Bud Prager, who passed away this last holiday season, once told me that everyone was to accepting of what Jim and I wrote and we needed to be challenged. It makes as much sense to me today as it did the day he said it. Bud told me that he would rather hear 1 great tune a month as opposed to 10 that were just OK. Very profound stuff from a guy who knew what he was taking about. Bud did love the "Too Hot To Sleep" record and when he came by Right Track for a playback told me we had finally did it. Now, as he put it, lets see if The Scotti Bros can get it on the radio. I remember thinking about the comments and when it didn't get its day in the sun calling him up and telling him he was right. He was very involved with helping the band's he managed choose their material and they all had "great" tunes! Many of them are your favorites for sure. He worked very closely with Mick Jones and look at he songs they wrote as a result of his pushing for everyone to do their very best and not accepting everything that came across his desk. I miss him very much.
I do wish we were challenged more and pushed harder in those days but we did do the best we knew how to do no matter what. I know if pushed more in an open forum we would have written more songs of a higher caliber.
Now as we grow I can take all of these comments and bring them to the table as a part of writing the tunes for the next project. They will be the very best possible with no exceptions.
