The heavily anticipated reunion of the surviving members of LED ZEPPELIN, scheduled for November 26 at the O2 Arena in London, has been postponed until December 10. According to a press statement, the concert, a tribute to late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, has been pushed back because ZEPPELIN guitarist Jimmy Page fractured a finger. The injury, which Page sustained last weekend, will keep him from picking up a guitar for three weeks, after which a specialist said that Page will be able to resume rehearsals for the rescheduled show.
Page has released the following statement regarding the matter:
"As you all know by now I was regrettably put in a situation where I had to postpone my performance at the Ahmet Ertegun benefit show, on November 26th, due to a fractured finger.
"We have now rescheduled this show to take place, at the same venue, on December 10th.
"In doing so I was very conscious of the fact that many people are travelling great distances to attend. I do want to let everyone know that this decision was unavoidable. My apologies to anyone who has been inconvenienced by this change.
"I would also like to thank everyone else involved for their help with making this change. Harvey Goldsmith, the trustees of the Ahmet Ertegun Foundation and, of course, the other artists who so willingly agreed to join us on the show.
"I look forward to the 10th December!"
All tickets for the show, which were sold through a worldwide lottery, will be valid for the rescheduled date.
Anyone unable to attend the show on December 10 will be able to receive a full refund until noon U.K. time on November 14. Tickets available as a result of refunds will be offered to random ballot winners drawn from the original lottery. Information on obtaining a refund can be found at AhmetTribute.com.
The show will feature Page, singer Robert Plant and bassist John Paul Jones performing together for the first time in 18 years, with Jason Bonham, son of late ZEPPELIN drummer John Bonham, sitting behind the kit. Bill Wyman and the RHYTHM KINGS, Paul Rodgers, Paolo Nutini, and FOREIGNER are also scheduled to appear.
Rumors continue to circulate that a full LED ZEPPELIN tour is in the works for 2008, although the band has remained ambivalent about any future plans. |

All eight of the band's classic studio albums are represented here, with the tracks being personally selected by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones. "Mothership" includes landmark songs such as "Whole Lotta Love", "Immigrant Song", "Kashmir", "Rock And Roll", "Dazed And Confused", "Stairway to Heaven". The set will also include new liner notes. Is it possible that Ian Astbury, lead singer of '80s rock powerhouse THE CULT, spilled the beans on the biggest secret in rock — during a club show in Cincinnati?
"We'll be back next year," a breathless Astbury said midway through the band's gig at Bogart's nightclub Saturday night. "Because we're opening for a band you may have heard of ... the name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it." Stunned looks bounced around the room until one sweat-drenched superfan shouted out the obvious: "LED ZEPPELIN!" Astbury, his eyes hidden behind dark shades, nodded affirmatively and stuck his hand in the air triumphantly before plowing into one of the band's signature Zeppelinesque rockers.
When asked about Astbury's seeming confirmation of the world tour, spokespeople for THE CULT and ZEPPELIN both declined to comment. ZEPPELIN's spokesperson added that no decision has been made on any LED ZEPPELIN tour and the band is focusing on its appearance at the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert in London on December 10; a CULT spokesperson declined to answer questions about Astbury's comment. |

une tournée pour 2008 , je serai pas etonne d ailleur "jimmy "(" page de son nom " oui je l appel par son prenom , normal depuis le temps qu on se connait )m en a vaguement parlé .
vu le succes et l affluence pour le seul et unique concert qui en fait est plus un test pour connaitre l interet du public pour ce genre de prestation .visiblement il y a moyen de se faire plus d argent que prevu alors pourquoi pas ça ravira les fans et ça renflouera les caisses du groupe .   |
