Video footage of DELAIN — the Dutch gothic rock/metal project founded by ex-WITHIN TEMPTATION keyboardist Martijn Westerholt (brother of WITHIN TEMPTATION's Robert Westerholt) — performing a new song entitled "I'll Reach You" on the Dutch TV channel RTL7 on November 23, 2008 can be viewed below. The track will appear on the group's second album, "April Rain", which will be released on February 9, 2009 via Roadrunner Records.
"April Rain" follows the successful 2006 debut "Lucidity", which sky-rocketed the career of the band in their home country of The Netherlands. "The new album is a real group effort, that's what we're most proud of," says Martijn Westerholt. |

The European release date of "April Rain", the second album from DELAIN — the Dutch gothic rock/metal project founded by ex-WITHIN TEMPTATION keyboardist Martijn Westerholt (brother of WITHIN TEMPTATION's Robert Westerholt) — has been pushed back to March 27 (except in Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg where the CD will be made available on March 20).
As a result of the date change, the band's previously announced CD-release shows have been moved as well. DELAIN will present the first single and play new material off "April Rain" at a "sneak preview" show on Friday, March 6 in the group's hometown of Zwolle. The official international release party in Amsterdam will now take place on Thursday, March 19 at De Melkweg.
As previously reported, DELAIN will hit the road in Europe in March/April with KAMELOT and SERENITY. The band has also lined up a string of headlining dates in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in April.

The band says, "We recorded the video in Serbia and used a green screen. It turned out to be a pretty awesome video and we hope you like it."
"April Rain" is the title cut of the group's upcoming album, which is scheduled for release in Benelux on March 20, the GAS countries, Scandinavia, France and Spain on March 27 and in Australia and Japan in early April (via Roadrunner Records). The single was also released as a limited-edition seven-inch picture disc. The CD follows DELAIN's acclaimed 2006 debut "Lucidity", which featured guest appearances by members of WITHIN TEMPTATION, NIGHTWISH and LEAVES' EYES.
"The new album is a real group effort, [and] that's what we're most proud of," says Westerholt.
DELAIN will launch the new album in Amsterdam on March 19 at a special event at the Melkweg venue. Westerholt says: "After that we'll tour Europe with KAMELOT and do multiple headline shows throughout Europe. I'd never intended DELAIN to be a real touring band… but now that we've become one, I'm definitely enjoying it to the fullest. We're looking forward to seeing our fans again real soon!"
