quelques détails supplémentaires sur le nouvel album, Metamorphosis, sortie le 24 mars :
After 10 years as a force at the forefront of the alternative rock scene, PAPA ROACH returns in 2009, revitalized and ready to bring their infectious anthems to scores of fans around the world. Their fifth studio album, "Metamorphosis", is due out March 24 via DGC/Interscope Records and boasts a wealth of growth and bravado.
"Metamorphosis" was written at the legendary Paramour Mansion and recorded at NRG Recording Studios. The album was co-produced by Jay Baumgardener (311, EVANESCENCE, INCUBUS) and PAPA ROACH. James Michael (MÖTLEY CRÜE, SIXX: A.M.) also co-produced five tracks.
The first official single, "Lifeline", is already burning up radio playlists across North America, rising quickly in the top 20 at both Active and Alternative Rock radio. To launch this song in its truest form, the band filmed "Lifeline" live during their performance at Crüe Fest 2008 in Toronto, Canada. Recorded entirely in one take, with no overdubs, the video (see below) features the power of PAPA ROACH live and shows that they are one of the few bands with the balls to share their true live sound with the world.
On February 4, the band teamed up with music video director Christopher Sims — who has previously worked with STAIND, LAMB OF GOD, AS I LAY DYING, BLEEDING THROUGH, NORMA JEAN and THROWDOWN — in Long Beach, California to shoot the official music video for "Lifeline". The clip is expected to be available towards the end of February.
The song "Lifeline" is available for purchase on iTunes and other digital stores, as well as in an exclusive two-song CD single at Hot Topic.
PAPA ROACH is currently on the road throughout the U.S. with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, BUCKCHERRY and SAVING ABEL throughout February and March. In April the band will head over to Europe to kick off its first headlining tour in over two years.
Former PAPA ROACH drummer Dave Buckner filed a lawsuit against the band late last year, claiming that he has not been receiving his fair share of the group's earnings. PAPA ROACH permanently split with Buckner at the beginning of 2008, following a year-long period in which he went to rehab twice. He was replaced by ex-UNWRITTEN LAW drummer Tony Palermo. | "_____ http://www.myspace.com/metal_den _____ http://metalden.free.fr/forum _____" |

modeste le gratteux qui annonce leur album de rock de la décade, ni plus ni moins !
Jason Price of Icon Vs. Icon recently conducted an interview with PAPA ROACH guitarist Jerry Horton. An excerpt from the chat follows below.
Icon Vs. Icon: You are releasing "Metamorphosis" on March 24. What can you tell us about the new album?
Horton: I think that the new album is our rock record of the decade. It covers the spectrum with a lot of different flavor. There are a lot of different styles on the record. I think that is what separates this record from the previous ones in that the songs on this one fit together really well and it makes for a really cohesive record.
Icon Vs. Icon: On this album you again worked with producer Jay Baumgardner, who you had worked with on "Infest". What was it like working with him years later?
Horton: Oddly enough, the process was very similar. Even though we have grown and he has done a lot of things since then. We had to feel it out but it was very similar. It was more of a co-producing thing where we pulled a lot from ourselves and tried to step it up and do a lot by ourselves and then consult him for ideas. It was a good experience for us because eventually we want to produce our own stuff. This kinda lead us to being able to do that.
Icon Vs. Icon: What was the biggest challenge in making the record?
Horton: I think that time was the biggest challenge. We had to finish the album on the road because we went out on Crüe Fest. We didn't really record much in the way of music on the road but there were a few songs that needed some tightening up on the lyrics and vocals. So that was basically it, we had a major block of it done and the ideas were done and recorded but we ran into a situation where we needed to go out and tour. We decided to finish it on the road and it worked! It worked for Jacoby (Shaddix, vocals) especially, because he got a chance to work with James Michael of SIXX: A.M. James did the recording on the road and helped him with a few lyrics here and there and kinda sped the process along. I think we came out with something really great. | "_____ http://www.myspace.com/metal_den _____ http://metalden.free.fr/forum _____" |
