ils se sont payés les services d'un photographe : Ash Newell, certaines photos sont dans le calendrier 2009 :
In 2008, DEF LEPPARD extensively used the photographic services of Ash Newell, resulting in hundreds of great pictures. Some of those you've seen on the band's official web site, DefLeppard.com, others have been used in projects such as the deluxe coffee table book "Shots From The Sparkle Tour" and the 2009 wall calendar.
Now, as a lookback on 2008, Ash has compiled a little video showcasing his collaboration with the band called "Clips from the Sparkle Year".
Commented Newell: "2008 was quite the year for me. Being asked by the DEF LEP guys to go on tour in the U.K. was not only a professional goal but a personal one that was happily met. During the tour and the rehearsals for 'Crossroads' with Taylor Swift and the NHL show in Detroit I had with me my little Canon digicam that records video. On the few occasions that I wasn’t shooting with the big cameras I took the opportunity to roll footage on that little camera, trying to catch some of the moments that happen away from the stage and showing not only the band but some of the great people that work behind the scenes and keep things running smoothly for DEF LEP. Anyway, it was fun going through all the footage. Go easy on my editing skills as I'm new to it. Hope that you enjoy what you see. Many thanks to the LEPPS and their great team for such a memorable year and thanks to all the fans for your support." |

According to the official blog of legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin, DEF LEPPARD's "Pyromania" (1983) and "Adrenalize" (1992) albums will be reissued as deluxe editions. Halfin writes in his February 22, 2009 blog entry, "Spoke to Joe Elliott [DEF LEPPARD singer] about work as there are deluxe editions of 'Pyromania' and 'Adrenalize' coming out and we needed to go through photos. Joe had no idea I'd shot several sessions with them as a four-piece. A couple of shoots in the studio in Los Angeles — out in the desert and the 'Let's Get Rocked' video, in the days when I used to shoot stills on videos (something I hated), plus with Vivian Campbell in Los Angeles and Australia. The record company lost all the colour when the PR threw it out by accident but I still have all the black-and-white."
DEF LEPPARD and POISON will team up for a U.S. summer tour, including a rumored appearance at this year's Rocklahoma festival, which is set to take place July 9-12, 2009 on the Catch The Fever Festival Grounds in Pryor, Oklahoma. |

For years, DEF LEPPARD fans have tried to find the episode, called 'Johnny's Guitar', without much luck. Although it was widely known that Joe had made his first steps toward an acting career, it seemed like the show was never broadcast anywhere in the Western world and so the number of DEF LEPPARD fans who actually saw it was not very big. Until now! Chiller, a cable channel owned by NBC/Universal, is currently showing 'Dark Realm', and 'Johnny's Guitar' finally made it to North American TVs. Last week DEF LEPPARD, one of a handful of select groups including THE BEATLES, LED ZEPPELIN and PINK FLOYD that have been awarded the RIAA's (Recording Industry Association of America) prestigious Diamond Award more than once, received three first-round CMT Award nominations. Today they were named as performers, along with KEITH URBAN, TAYLOR SWIFT, SUGARLAND, BRAD PAISLEY, RASCAL FLATTS and TOBY KEITH, for the 2009 "CMT Music Awards" which will premiere live on Tuesday, June 16 at 8:00 p.m. ET on CMT and CMT.com.
DEF LEPPARD is nominated for its performance of "Photograph" with TAYLOR SWIFT, from "CMT Crossroads: Def Leppard and Taylor Swift"; one for "CMT Performance Of The Year" and the other for "Wide Open Country Video Of The Year." Their collaboration with Tim McGraw on "Nine Lives" also received a nomination as the "Wide Open Country Video Of The Year."
