BOSTON guitarist/leader Tom Scholz has issued the following update:
"We are trying to repair and mix the audio recording of BOSTON's performance at the Brad Delp tribute show [which was held on August 19 at the Bank Of America Pavilion in Boston, Massachusetts]. For unknown reasons, BOSTON's gear was moved and uncabled following our soundcheck. This, coupled with a minimal set change time, resulted in numerous technical problems during our performance, and even necessitated starting the set without Michael Sweet's [STRYPER singer; one of the guest musicians appearing at the event] guitar. Because there are missing or damaged tracks that will be troublesome in a stereo mixdown, this may require considerable effort in our studio, which is set up exclusively for BOSTON recording, editing and mixing. Two recordings were made — one into our normal live taping system and one into a professional A/V company computer. We have been unable to get the computer files converted to a form that can be used in our system. The recording on our own tape was reduced to an unacceptable level due to the interconnection with all the additional show and A/V gear. There was insufficient time to check and reset these levels, or to perform a full line check before BOSTON took the stage. In the meantime, while we try to sort this out, we thought that we would share this version of 'More than a Feeling', from a rehearsal session. This is from the first time that Michael Sweet rehearsed with Tom, Gary [Pihl, guitar], Kimberley [Dahme, bass] and Jeff [Neal, drums] together. For your information, this was an informal stereo recording, and the mix levels and quality are not up to professional standards." | "_____ http://www.myspace.com/metal_den _____ http://metalden.free.fr/forum _____" |

Tom Scholz devrait finir l'enregistrement du nouvel album après la tournée de cet été, avec Michael Sweet :
Gary Graff of Billboard.com reports: BOSTON leader Tom Scholz tells Billboard.com he hopes to finish recording the band's next studio album after its summer tour and have it out "just after the first of the year."
Scholz says the album — BOSTON's first since 2002's "Corporate America" — is a mix of "really straightforward rock 'n' roll songs and some things that are pretty esoteric.
"When I first started," he continues, "I was doing music that had pretty simple themes. Then as I got into 'Third Stage' and 'Walk On' I got a little more technical and a little more involved, more complicated. In this one I'm trying to do both."

BOSTON's Gary Pihl and Tom Scholz were the featured guests on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline", hosted by Bob Coburn, on Wednesday, May 14. The program is now available for streaming at this location.
BOSTON will be bringing two new recruits on tour this year. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Michael Sweet, the veteran STRYPER frontman, will both sing and trade riffs with Gary Pihl and Tom Scholz on guitar. Unexpected phenomenon Tommy DeCarlo, the fan that posted his BOSTON covers on his MySpace page and ended up on stage, will also be belting out the classics that skyrocketed the band to worldwide fame. | "_____ http://www.myspace.com/metal_den _____ http://metalden.free.fr/forum _____" |

BostonHerald.com recently conducted an interview with STRYPER singer Michael Sweet about his current stint as a member of BOSTON's touring band. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow.
BostonHerald.com: How did this tour come about?
Sweet: "The rehearsals and ensuing show last August came off so well, afterwards Tom [Scholz; guitar] asked me if I would consider singing with the band were they ever to tour again. But I was floored at how quickly it came together. BOSTON's known for long breaks between projects, so when I got the call six months later I couldn't believe it."
BostonHerald.com: Why the sudden change of heart?
Sweet: "All I can say is that a lot of healing took place at that tribute concert last year. Tom was deeply saddened by losing Brad [Delp], but you could tell he also experienced a great deal of joy getting together with other people and celebrating the music left behind."
BostonHerald.com: Does being part of BOSTON compromise your faith at all? Are you channeling your inner bad boy?
Sweet: "I haven't felt that yet, no. Believe it or not, BOSTON isn't your typical rock scene with groupies, girls and drugs backstage. We've got a vegetarian chef, and lifestyle-wise it's as normal and boring as it gets."
