Pat Dixon, le batteur original, rejoint le groupe, avec un normalement un nouvel album à la clé pour 2009 :
The newly reformed Icon featuring original guitarists Dan Wexler and John Aquilino have parted ways with new drummer Bruce Stoddard. Dan and John wish Bruce the best in his future endeavors and thank him for his contributions and efforts for the last three years in preparation for their return to action. In light of this development, Icon is proud to announce the return of original drummer Pat Dixon. Icon is currently fronted by new vocalist Scott Hammons and are in full scale preproduction for a new release. Look for new Icon material in 2009.
This announcement comes on the heels of the release-Icon's 1984: Live Bootleg, on DVD for the first time on August 5th 2008 through Epicenter Multimedia. The full length concert also features a brand new interview recorded in May 2008 with Dan Wexler and John Aquilino. As previously announced, this single camera shot concert from December 30, 1984 is the only known document to feature the original band recorded live in concert. The original beta master was recently put through a series of filters and Izotope Audio mastering plugins to produce a clearer picture than the original VHS release in 1999 through Epilogue Entertainment. A limited number of copies of the DVD are hand signed by Dan Wexler, John Aquilino and Pat Dixon are available directly from www.rockzonerecords.com.

en attendant un futur nouvel album, le groupe fait quelques dates, comme celle-ci, une première partie de Tesla, belle affiche malheureusement un peu loin !
Legendary Phoenix rock band ICON will perform as special guests in front of TESLA on Saturday, November 29 at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix Arizona. Tickets go on sale this Monday, October 20 at 10 a.m. at www.livenation.com, the Dodge Theatre box office and all Ticketmaster locations.
This will be the band's first performance since regrouping earlier this year; and their first performance since 1990. Since the release of its debut record, "Icon", in 1984, the group has sustained a committed and fanatical fan base that still thrives to this day. ICON claimed international recognition with its follow-up release, "Night of Crime", in 1985, voted third best record of all time by Kerrang! magazine's readers' poll in 1988.
The band's lineup consists of original members Dan Wexler (guitar), John Aquilino (guitar), Pat Dixon (drums) alongside new members Scott Hammons (lead vocals) and Ken Geraghty (bass).
Earlier this year, ICON, in conjunction with Epicenter Multimedia, released "1984: Live Bootleg" for the first time on DVD. This enhanced multimedia disc features interviews with Dan Wexler and John Aquilino and contains live footage of one of the last concerts with the complete original ICON lineup of Stephen Clifford, Dan Wexler, John Aquilino, Tracy Wallach and Pat Dixon. The band performs in front of a sold-out crowd in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1984. This is the only known footage of an entire concert by the original band. | "_____ http://www.myspace.com/metal_den _____ http://metalden.free.fr/forum _____" |
