Canuck rock legends HELIX have inked a new deal with Sanctuary Records. As previously reported, Helix' new CD, which will be released in July/August, will be called The Power Of Rock n’ Roll. It will be a combination of their recent Get Up! EP plus four brand new tracks:
'Fill Your Head With Rock',
'Nickels & Dimes',
'Livin’ Life Large'
'Eat My Dust'.
As well as taking on the new CD, Sanctuary is also licensing seven CDs in their back catalogue: Breaking Loose,
White Lace & Black Leather,
B-Sides,
Half-alive,
Back for Another Taste,
Rockin’
In My Outer Space, and Live! In Buffalo. |

le line-up de 83 va se re former le temps d'enregistrer une reprise d'AC/DC :
The "No Rest For The Wicked"-era (1983) lineup of the Canadian hard rock band HELIX will reunite for a one-off recording session where they will be laying down a cover version of AC/DC's "It's a Long Way To The Top If You Wanna Rock And Roll". According to singer Brian Vollmer, "everyone will be there: Brent Doerner on guitar, Mike Uzilac on bass, and Greg 'Fritz' Hinz on drums. The song will appear on an AC/DC tribute CD being released through Perris Records. Once again, Gord Prior is producing. The song is being engineered by Aaron McMurray. Also guesting on the track will be THE MUDMEN and Steve Georgakopoulos, who played on the last two HELIX CDs."
In other news, HELIX is finalizing a deal with Germany's AOR Music for the release of the band's as-yet-untitled new studio album. The CD is expected to be completed by the fall, to be followed by possible shows in Europe.

"The knowledge we gained from working on those two discs is going to make this one a much more cohesive effort, even though we thought those two discs were some of the best ever released by the band. We already have the material written — it's a matter now of tightening up the loose ends and going into the studio and recording it."
The recording process for the new album will begin within the next couple of weeks. The band expects to have the CD finished by fall of this year. The new lineup of the veteran Canadian hard rock band HELIX took part in its first photo session and rehearsal on Saturday, March 7. A five-minute video clip shot on the day can be viewed below.
