CIVILIZATION ONE are pleased to announce the addition of Christian Münzner (MAJESTY; ex-NECROPHAGIST) as a 2nd lead guitarist. Chris is a neoclassical shred monster who will add another dimension to the CIVILIZATION ONE musical attack.
The band's new songwriting necessitated adding another guitarist to the fold, as it would have been impossible for a single guitarist to perform all of the parts live. Now the band will have the classic two guitar lineup which they envisioned since their formation -- with an emphasis on dueling leads -- as exemplified by such heavy metal greats JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, NEVERMORE, and ARCH ENEMY. CIVILIZATION ONE will no longer have a keyboard player in the band.
CIVILIZATION ONE features in its ranks vocalist Chity Somapala (ex-FIREWIND, AVALON), guitarist Aldo Lanobile (SECRET SPHERE), drummer Luca Cartasegna (ex-SECRET SPHERE), and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE; ex-HEAVENLY).
CIVILIZATION ONE will have their debut album, "Revolution Rising," released in Japan on September 26th via Spiritual Beast Records. This Japanese release will include the bonus track "Out in the Rain." "Revolution Rising" has recently been released in Europe, where it has received great praise from both fans and press alike. |

CIVILIZATION ONE members Chitral "Chity" Somapala (vocals) and Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (bass) have issued the following statement :
"We are sad to announce that we parted ways with Christian Münzner (guitars), Björn Daigger (guitars) and Holger Rodammer (drums).
With the exception of the very first CIVILIZATION ONE concert at ProgPower UK, this lineup has played all the shows following the release of our first album, 'Revolution Rising'. We were looking forward to recording the second album, 'Calling The Gods', together. However, during the last months and for various reasons, it has proven more and more difficult working all together. In the end, we thought it was best to go on our seperate ways. There are definitely no hard feelings on our side and so we wish Chris, Björn and Holly all the best in their future projects.
"As for CIVILIZATION ONE, obviously the schedule for the following months has to be adjusted. We're very sorry that we are forced to cancel the two remaining shows for 'Revolution Rising' in France (Rockalies festival in St Martin de Fontenay) and in Germany (Power of Metal festival in Paderborn). The recording of 'Calling the Gods' will also be delayed, until we figure who is going to handle the vacant positions in the band. But please be sure that 'Calling the Gods' will come out and will more than meet the expectations following the critical success of our debut album."

Chity recently joined Shankle's DAVID SHANKLE GROUP (DSG) for the band's upcoming album and touring activities.

suite au départ de 3 membres (voir ci dessus)le groupe vient d'embaucher un anglais, ex iced earth : Tim Mills et travaille a son futur album pour une sortie 2009 : Calling the Gods
CIVILIZATION ONE, the band led by singer Chitral "Chity" Somapala (ex-FIREWIND, FARO, AVALON) and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE, ex-HEAVENLY), has announced the addition of British guitarist Tim Mills (ex-ICED EARTH, ELKIE BROOKS) to the group's ranks.
The band performed in Colombo, Sri Lanka on November 29 as part of the TNL Onstage event at the SLECC (Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre). This marked the first time a Western metal group has played in Sri Lanka, and it was a homecoming for Chity Somapala, the Sri Lankan-born singer who has been living in Europe for 22 years. Back in his home country, he did the remarkable "Lion Beer Song" which was played on radio/TV commercials throughout the country and during international cricket events.
Commented the band: "Close to 4,000 screaming fans witnessed the show. As a result, we will release our debut, 'Revolution Rising', as a special edition in Sri Lanka, India and the Maldives in 2009 for all those die-hard fans. We will come back to Sri Lanka and hopefully other parts of southeast Asia with the release of our second album, 'Calling the Gods'."
CIVILIZATION ONE is currently working on material for "Calling the Gods", tentatively due next year. |

The CD will be mixed by Markus Teske (VANDEN PLAS, AMASEFFER, DOMINICI).
Commented Somapala: "It was already recorded earlier with the old band members. Due to [the lack of] interest of the old members towards the band, myself and the bassist decided to go searching for replacements with a professional attitude! I was quite disappointed but now I personally feel all happened for the best. We have killer songs and I guarantee this will be a brilliant album with versatility."
