OPETH's "The Roundhouse Tapes" will be released as a high-definition-filmed DVD in early 2008. This will also feature lots of fan interviews, band interviews, soundcheck footage and live photos, along with exclusive menu music written by mainman Mikael Åkerfeldt and keyboardist Per Wiberg.
The cover artwork for OPETH's upcoming "The Roundhouse Tapes" double CD has been posted at this location. Due on October 22 via Peaceville, "'The Roundhouse Tapes' contains a captivating OPETH performance from the Camden Roundhouse, London, UK, on November 9, 2006, and sees the band in scintillating form churning out a selection of classics from their illustrious career," according to a press release. "You know what to expect from OPETH: unrivalled composition; seamless progressive dynamics and boundless atmosphere from the mellow to the incredibly heavy, all sealed with the unmistakable vocal presence of mainman Mikael Åkerfeldt."

"Watershed" was recorded in the band's native Sweden and produced by frontman/guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt and Jens Bogren. All the songs were written by Åkerfeldt apart from "Porcelain Heart", which was co-written with new guitarist Fredrik Åkesson. One additonal track, "Derelict Herds", was also recorded and this was written by Mikael Åkerfeldt and Per Wiberg. On top of this, three cover songs were recorded. "Bridge of Sighs" from ROBIN TROWER's 1974 LP of the same title, "Den Ständiga Resan" (sung in Swedish) by MARIE FREDRIKSSON as well as the classic ALICE IN CHAINS song "Would?" The album was recorded at Fascination Street studios between November 1 and December 13, 2007. Some additional recording was done between January 3 and January 7.
OPETH recently filmed a promotional video for an edit of the song "Porcelain Heart". The clip was directed by Lasse Hoile (PORCUPINE TREE) and shot in Vaxholm, Sweden at the marvellous Bogesund castle, built in the 1640s. The edit was done by Jens Bogren and OPETH mainman Mikael Åkerfeldt. |

gors début du dvd live en finlande, n° 1 :
"The Roundhouse Tapes", the long-awaited new DVD from Swedish progressive metallers OPETH, has entered the DVD chart in Finland at position No. 1.
"The Roundhouse Tapes" was released in most of Europe on October 27 via Peaceville Records. The set will be issued in the UK on November 10 and in the U.S. on November 11.
The DVD was premiered on November 4 with a special screening at the Prince Charles Cinema in London. The screening was introduced by members of the band, who were also available to sign copies of the DVD following the screening. In addition to the DVD, exclusive merchandise was also be on sale at the cinema. |
