Robert Levine of The New York Times reports: A decade and a half after releasing its previous album, GUNS N' ROSES plans to put out a new song in September — on the video game Rock Band 2. MTV expects to announce on Monday that the sequel to its popular Rock Band game will include "Shackler's Revenge", a track from the GUNS N' ROSES album that has been in the works for more than a decade, said people familiar with the deal who spoke on condition of anonymity because the arrangement has yet to be announced.
The inclusion of the song on a game suggests that the GUNS N' ROSES album "Chinese Democracy" will come out this fall, after years of delays. Axl Rose, who has selected replacements for the other original members, has said that the album is finished, but a release date has not been announced.

Jimi Hendrix is coming to Guitar Hero.
The Seattle-based company Experience Hendrix, which controls the rock icon’s musical legacy, is providing Hendrix’s music and likeness for the latest “Guitar Hero” video game, Aaron Grant, a spokesman for publisher and developer Activision and Red Octane, told the Associated Press.
It’s the first time Hendrix’s likeness will be showcased in the game.
An avatar of Hendrix, as well as the song “The Wind Cries Mary” and a live version of “Purple Haze” recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena, will be included on “Guitar Hero World Tour.” The fourth edition of the popular game franchise is scheduled for release Oct. 27.
“World Tour” will be the first “Guitar Hero” to feature playable drums and a microphone.
Besides the in-game songs, Experience Hendrix provided Activision and Red Octane with tunes that will be released in the future as downloadable content, Grant said. |

According to a posting on the Roadrunner Records web site, fans will be able to download the DRAGONFORCE expansion pack beginning on August 21 featuring three songs exclusively for Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock. It includes "Heroes Of Our Time", the first single from the band's new album, "Ultra Beatdown", as well as "Inhuman Rampage" classics "Operation Ground And Pound" and "Revolution Deathsquad". You can download these through the Xbox Live and Playstation Network.
DRAGONFORCE's new album, "Ultra Beatdown", is scheduled for release on August 25 via Roadrunner Records.

La tournée mondiale Guitar Hero comportera une nouvelle version des chansons de MC5 et the Sex Pistols. Wayne Kramer de MC5 est retourné en studio pour enregistrer une nouvelle version de ‘Kick Out The Jams’ avec Jerry Cantrell d’Alice In Chains et Gilby Clarke, ex Guns N Roses.
The Sex Pistols ont re-enregistré ‘Pretty Vacant’ pour le jeu, l’année dernière, ils avaient déjà fait une nouvelle version de ‘Anarchy In The UK’ pour Guitar Hero.
Guitar Hero World Tour sortira le 27 octobre. |
