Norwegian gothic metal band SIRENIA has launched a vocalist search following the recent departure of Danish singer Monika Pedersen due to "musical differences." "We are looking for a talented singer with experience, a cool image and a strong passion for music," the group says in a statement. "Someone who is willing to give the band a high priority for many years to come. Please send us a biography, some recent photos and an mp3/wma file of your voice. If you have your own MySpace site, send us the link."

Norwegian gothic metal band SIRENIA — which parted ways with Danish singer Monika Pedersen last fall after only one album due to "musical differences" — has issued the following update:
"After several months of searching and auditioning, the search for a new singer is finally over. It has been a busy period for us with more than 500 singers showing their interest in the singer position. We would like to thank each and every one of you for honouring us with your applications; we have listened carefully to every demo we received. And we have done our very best to answer as many mails as possible. Thanks a lot for all the response, it was highly appreciated. The new singer will be introduced within the next couple of days. Stay tuned!!"
SIRENIA's latest album, "Nine Destinies and a Downfall", entered the German Media Control chart in March 2007 at position No. 54. The CD was recorded at Jailhouse studios in Norway with engineer Hans Eidsgard and Soundsuite studios in France with Terje Refsnes and was mixed and mastered at Antfarm studios in Aarhus, Denmark with Tue Madsen. |

Norwegian gothic metal band SIRENIA has issued the following update:
"After almost four years of co-operation, guitar player Bjørnar Landa has decided to part ways with SIRENIA in order to have more time for his family and studies. We end the co-operation as great friends, just as we started it it. The band would like to wish Bjørnar all the best for the future, and thank him for all the great experiences we shared over the years.
"SIRENIA's new guitar player is Michael S. Krumins [photo]. Michael played together with Jonathan [A. Perez; drums] in TRAIL OF TEARS in the very beginning of his musical career. After leaving this band at an early stage, he explored different styles of music in the years to come. In 2003 he joined GREEN CARNATION as a lead guitarist, after the recent split-up of this band he decided to join SIRENIA. Michael is educated at the Conservatory of Music in Kristiansand."
SIRENIA has scheduled the following dates:
June 13 - Hjørnet - Kristiansand, Norway
June 21 - Gothic Metal Palace - Zuidlaren, Holland
July 10 - Masters Of Rock - Vizovice, Czech Republic
SIRENIA recently recruited 25-year-old Spanish singer Ailyn (photo; born: Pilar Giménez García) as the replacement for Monika Pedersen, who left the group last fall after only one album due to "musical differences." |
