The Perfect Rock Machine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night I went to visit a Jeff Scott Soto concert and although I knew this guy from the two DVD's I got of him and his CD's with the great AOR/Melodic band "Eyes" I wasn't a big fan of his heavyer stuff.
The DVD "Live at The Gods" was a reason for me to visit, the energy this guy showed on the DVD was something worth seeing myself.
For the crazy low price of Euro 10 we had acces to the concert which started at 23.00.
The band arrived on stage and started kicking right away with the intro of "Let me entertain you" but when JSS took the mic it was dead !
Normally 99% would panic but not this guy, like nothing was wrong he took over the mic from his great guitar player Howie Simon and sang a fantastic opener with an energy that only the great athletes of the world could
do.
This guy really works out on stage.
At the second song the mic still was dead but it was not a problem anymore.
Now the mic was fixed so it was time for Howie to join in on background vocals.
A binch of Queen songs rocked over the crowd and although I've always felt that Freddie Mercury was a unique person who could never be replaced, JSS came to a scare high level and on some occasions even better than the real thing.
All the songs they played from Jeff's previous carreer with Yngwie Malmsteen, Talisman and Axel Rudi Pell were all fantastic.
After an hour of great energy on stage we were treated on an acoustic intermezzo.
Hearing some great Queen songs played acoustic was awesome but the last acoustic song "Hammer to fall" was the best version I ever heard of this song and if you than think this was the song they simply tranfered from acoustic calm
musicians into rock animals for a very heavy version of the same song, simply awesome.

Now they played the 3 Queen clasdic number one hits "Radio Gaga, We", "Will Rock You and "We are the Champions", needles to say the crowd got crazyer by the moment.
After the three songs the band thanked the crowd but we knew they were coming back, and they did.
With the singer of the Dutch band "Miracle" Jeff sang a duet .
After another song they said to do the last one and off course the crowd didn't want that.
They strated a so called "Funky Medley" a mix off all great 70's and 80's disco hits but all played with the same energy Jeff does all his songs.
Hearing Jeff on "Staying Alive" with the same voice like the Beegees make you understand what a great artist this guy really is.
A closing medley which leaves a crowd very satisfied.
I once remebered reading a review about Bruce Springsteen and they guy wrote "I've seen the future of Rock'n'Roll" well last night it wasn't only the future of Rock'n'Roll what we saw it was also the present and past.
Hearing the comments after the show from several critical music lovers we all agreed this show was awesome.
For me it was my first live experience with Jeff Scott Soto but you can bet the next time I get a chance to see this rock'n'roll monster I will definitly be there !!
I know that Kathy Tozzo from www.strikeablance.net is working on an interview with Jeff so I'll be looking out for it.
At last I wanna thank Jeff and the band and off course his fantastic stage manager, who probably never held a microphone that much, for a fantastic evening of rock'n'roll and be sure to see the band if you can.

THANKS GUYS !!!!!!!
