En Anglais quelques explications sur le style et l'évolution du groupe :
A rootsy-guitar oriented hard rock band who at times flirted with folk music. The band was named after the highest grade of Chinese opium (and in fact the original moniker of The Firm).
Formed in Nashville, Tennessee by Joe Blanton (vocals, guitar), Oscar Rice (guitar), Robert Logue (bass) and Chris Mekow (drums). The debut EP garned the attention of A&M and the band were signed. However the first full length debut sounded similar to R.E.M., and the band was arguing over what direction the follow-up should take.
Rice and Logue (who would together release a folk album as the Shakers) were ousted and replaced by Josh Weinberg and Drew Cornutt respectively. The Geared & Primed album saw the group head in a much harder direction while mainting some of their folk leanings. However the record failed to make any waves and they were dropped from A&M. Shortly after the group disbanded, and faded from site.

Geared & Primed est une veritable bombe.Produit par Vic RIP Mail tous les titres sont des hits potentiels surtout le genial Six Empty Bottle.Pour donner une idee de l album on prendrait le meilleur des G n r ,billy Idol et zodiac mindwarp que l on melangerait.A posseder si on aime le ROCK. |

je me disais aussi que le seul morceau (half the truth) que je connais n'avait rien à voir avec du REM ! donc j'éviterai le premier. | |
