Le clip, qui reflète les thèmes créés dans le nouvel album du groupe, "Weather Systems", a été édité conjointement par Lasse Hoile, le célèbre réalisateur et cinéaste, connu pour son travail avec Steven Wilson et Porcupine Tree.

"Weather Systems" s'est vendus a environ 1300 exemplaires aux États-Unis dans sa première semaine de sortie.

"Weather Systems" a été publié le 24 Avril via The End Records.

Posté par: MetalDen le Ven 31 Mar 17 21:20:21: Après l'album "Weather Systems" en 2012 et "Distant Satellites" en 2014, les rockers sont de retour avec leur onzième long métrage, «The Optimist» le 9 juin via Kscope.

La chanson "Springfield", tirée de "The Optimist", est dévoilée ci-dessous.

ANATHEMA a commencé à enregistrer "The Optimist" cet hiver 2016 chez Attica Audio à Donegal en Irlande et a terminé aux Studios Castle Of Doom à Glasgow avec le producteur Tony Doogan (MOGWAI, BELLE & SEBASTIAN, SUPER FURRY ANIMALS) à la barre. Vincent évalue l'influence de Doogan sur le processus d'enregistrement: "Il a suggéré que nous enregistrions en tant que groupe en live, que nous n'avions pas fait depuis des années. Après avoir joué quelques morceaux lors de la dernière tournée, nous étions prêts pour ça. Tony voulait capturer cette énergie que vous ne pouvez obtenir avec chacun de son côté ... Cela fait une grande différence. "

Travis Smith a créé la pochette de "The Optimist", à partir d'une série de photographies. Smith a entrepris un voyage sur la côte ouest.

ANATHEMA a annoncé son intention de "faire une pause indéfinie" à la suite de la pandémie de coronavirus qui balaie le monde (détails dans les news (http://rockmeeting.com/news/10575-anathema-en-pause-indefinie-suite-a-l-epidemie-covid-19)).

Le groupe a annoncé la nouvelle de sa prochaine inactivité dans un message sur les réseaux sociaux mardi 22 septembre. Ils ont écrit: "Chère famille d'ANATHEMA, cette année ne ressemble à aucune autre. Nous avons tous - chacun d'entre vous inclus - été confrontés à des défis imprévisibles, qui ont eu un impact à la fois sur nos situations professionnelles et personnelles. En cette période des plus difficiles, les événements de cette année nous ont pas laissé d’autre choix que de nous arrêter pour une durée indéterminée. En tant qu’individus, il est maintenant temps de poursuivre d’autres voies dans la vie.

"Nous sommes plus que reconnaissants pour le soutien de tout le monde au fil des ans. Il n'y a pas de fin à l'amour et au respect que nous avons pour nos fans pour nous avoir donné les meilleures années de notre vie. La générosité dont vous avez tous fait preuve suite à l'annulation inattendue de notre tournée restera toujours avec nous.
