Les rockers australiens se reforment encore une fois  l'année prochaine pour un nouvel album studio et des tournées. Dans le journal The Age aujourd'hui: "Ian Moss, qui jouait en solo à Melbourne cette semaine, a déclaré que le concert du groupe à  Muster Deniliquin Ute en Octobre a été en partie un catalyseur pour la re-formation''Cela a été notre deuxième concert en 12 mois. et nous sommes tous  vraiment bien, alors ... à ce stade, nous sommes en mode d'écriture et très tôt en 2011, nous verrons si nous avons assez de chansons et si nous sommes satisfaits avec celles que nous auronti écrit, dit-il. ''Nous espérons que d'ici la mi-année, nous serons prêts à commencer l'enregistrement et nous referons le point plus tard dans l'année.''

Mauvaises nouvelles pour les fans de rock australien sur deux fronts aujourd'hui. Voir  www.news.com.au (http://www.news.com.au) / divertissement / musique.

«C'était un week-end triste pour le monde du rock australien, avec le décès de deux légendes. Le batteur de Cold Chisel  Steve Prestwich est décédé dimanche d'une tumeur au cerveau à l'âge de 56 ans.
Prestwich est né à Liverpool, en Angleterre, mais a déménagé à Adelaide, en Australie lorsque sa famille a émigré en 1971. Il a été membre fondateur de Orange en 1973, avec Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss, Don Walker et Les Kaczmarek.
En 1974, ils ont changé leur nom en Cold Chisel. Après le split de Chisel  en 1983, Steve a rejoint Little River Band. Il a sorti deux albums solo Since You've Been Gone en 2000 et tEvery Highway  en 2009.

En même temps, le guitariste de Sherbert : James Harvey est mort après une bataille avec le cancer du poumon à 58-ans à Melbourne à 20h15 samedi.

COLD CHISEL ANNOUNCE ADDITIONAL UK SHOWS

Cold Chisel Announce Additional UK Shows!Cold Chisel recently announced that they will be playing in the northern hemisphere for the first time in almost 30 years, performing alongside Bruce Springsteen, Soundgarden, Paul Simon, John Fogerty and Iggy Pop and the Stooges as part of the Hard Rock Calling weekend of shows in Hyde Park.

Ever since the announcement UK and European fans have been screaming for more, asking if the band will be playing their own shows.

In addition to the band’s Hard Rock Calling show on Friday, July 13, Cold Chisel now announce that they will be performing at the Glasgow O2 Academy (Sunday July 15) and Manchester O2 Apollo (Monday July 16). Glasgow-born frontman Jimmy Barnes said these shows will be a great homecoming: “I can’t wait for these UK shows. Last year’s Light The Nitro tour in Australia and New Zealand was Cold Chisel at its rock & roll best and we look forward to showing people in Glasgow, Manchester and London what they’ve been missing all these years.”

Tickets for these shows go on pre-sale at 9am Wednesday 18th April at 9am UK time. This limited allocation is available from Ticketmaster UK. (General onsale date is 20th April).

The band is currently making plans for the international release of its new album No Plans to coincide with these UK dates. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, two very special ‘One Night Only’ shows take place at the Hordern Pavilion, Sydney (Wednesday April 18) and Festival Hall, Melbourne (Thursday April 19) and these be the final chance to see Cold Chisel play in Australia in 2012. The band release 500 additional tickets for each show this week.

RELEASE TO BE FIRST IN A NEW SERIES

Iconic Australian rock band, Cold Chisel, have announced the first new release on their own label:  “The Live Tapes Vol. 1: Hordern Pavilion. April 18, 2012″.

This special concert set will feature 21 live recordings and will be available on Friday, November 22. It will be released as a Deluxe 2 CD/1 DVD pack, a double CD, a Blu-Ray and Standard DVD or via digital download.

These will be the first new live Cold Chisel releases in over 10 years. The film and the audio capture the band in full flight as they launched their gold certified studio album, No Plans.


“That handful of smaller gigs we did last year were really special. It’ll be good to have one out there for everyone who wasn’t able to get along to those shows”, says Cold Chisel guitarist, Ian Moss.

This particular show will be long remembered by those who endured the monsoonal thunderstorm which lit up the harbour city as the band electrified the Hordern Pavilion that night. The gig came just a few months after Cold Chisel had wrapped their unforgettable “Light The Nitro” tour. The 36 dates on that run set all sorts of sales records, drawing over 300,000 people across Australasia.


“We were really road hardened by the time of that Hordern gig because we’d just finished that big tour a few months prior“, reflects the band’s frontman, Jimmy Barnes. “Adding a few new songs in the set for those launch gigs kept things fresh for us. Listening and watching it back, it’s raw and primal, warts and all – like the best rock & roll should be.”

“The Live Tapes” will be an ongoing series for Cold Chisel over coming years. An exhaustive review of the band’s archives prior to the digital release of their studio albums in 2011 revealed multi-track recordings of several legendary gigs from the late 1970′s and early 1980′s. Now that the band has its own label imprint, those masters will gradually be restored and mixed for release at irregular intervals.

At this stage it’s not certain how many volumes of “The Live Tapes” will be released but a spokesman for the band said that hopes were high for “at least five new live releases over the next five years“.


“It was important to the band that they kicked this series off with a show that really made a statement. That Hordern gig definitely fits that bill!”
