Metal Mélodique ( Progressif Symphonique Gothique ...)

"Act 1" porte bien son nom puisqu’il s’agit bien du premier album live de la soprano finlandaise depuis qu’elle a quitté Nightwish.

Depuis son départ, Tarja Turunen a rempli son planning efficacement, avec  plusieurs albums solos plutôt bien accueillis. Avec Act 1, elle s’est lancée dans quelque chose d'assez ambitieux, un concert live décliné en CD et DVD, enregistré et filmé à Rosario, en Argentine, en haute définition avec 10 caméras, dans le magnifique Teatro El Círculo.

N'ayant pas reçu le DVD, je vais ici décrire l'enregistrement audio, en étant bien conscient, après avoir visionné les vidéos ci-dessous, que la version DVD  et l’image représentent une sacrée plus-value !
Néanmoins, l'enregistrement disponible sur les deux CDs est de très bonne qualité, avec un mixage mettant bien en avant  la voix de Tarja, il faut dire que le talent lyrique de la belle et ses trois octaves est vraiment incroyable et mérite bien cela. La sélection des chansons est en grande partie issue de ses albums solos les plus récents. Dans les points forts il y a ainsi  My Little Phoenix, Falling Awake, et Die Alive, I Walk Alone,  Until My Last Breath pour n'en citer que quelques-uns. Mais elle reprend aussi quelques chansons de Nightwish comme Nemo, Over The Hills et Far Away, qui est en fait une reprise d'une chanson Gary Moore. Plus surprenant les reprises de Whitesnake et de son standard  Still of the Night, ou encore Bon Jovi et son classique Livin' On a Prayer qui prennent tous deux une dimension … symphonique !



Ce premier acte constitue une étape importante dans la carrière de Tarja, il vient démontrer qu’elle reste une pièce maitresse du métal symphonique, un genre qu’elle magnifie de part une voix exceptionnelle, ceux qui ont assisté à leur dernière tournée française ne me contrediront pas !
