La Finlande est un pays réputé pour le heavy metal (STRATOVARIUS, SONATA ARCTICA, NIGHTWISH etc…),
pour la pop aussi (POETS OF THE FALL, Mikko SIPOLA etc…) et aussi l’AOR (URBAN TALE, HUMAN TEMPLE, PRAYER etc…) voire le glam (RECKLESS LOVE, NEGATIVE, PRIVATE LINE etc…), mais en 2011, votre serviteur a découvert avec Saved By Rock‘n’Roll, ce groupe prolifique qu’est LOS BASTARDOS FINLANDESES. Cet album qui précédait The Day Of The Dead, dont nous allons parler, avait d’excellentes qualités et venait après 3 albums, dont le 1er date seulement de 2007. Si vous aimez le rock pur, direct, enflammé, vous serez servi. Car ces diables de Finlandais ont vraiment la patate et pour les décrire, nous dirons que leur musique, leurs riffs, leurs mélodies et même la voix de Bryn JONES, font penser à un mélange de KISS et de MOTORHEAD. C’est justement cette voix, faisant penser à Lemmy, avec des compositions en béton, alliée à un son bien 80’s, qui n’engendre pas la mélancolie, bien loin de là. Ces « bâtards finlandais » ont vraiment le rock dans le sang et s’ils nous avaient déjà régalé sur le précédent opus Saved By Rock‘n’Roll, avec ce nouvel effort, ils poursuivent leur route, toujours avec cette hargne, cette fièvre qu’ils savent si bien insuffler. Il y a tout dans ces titres racés, directs, simples certes, mais si efficaces ! Relativement courts (moins de 4 minutes), ils mettent le feu avec un aplomb extraordinaire : grosses guitares, mélodies accrocheuses, voilà le reflet de ces 10 compositions dont on peut détacher The Day Of The Dead du nom de l’album, Goddess Of The Valley voire Forever The Desperado sans oublier Old Dog In The Rain, vraiment tous bien rythmés. A l’écoute de cette nouvelle galette, l’auditeur sera emporté par ce souffle rock et aura envie encore et encore de se replonger dans cette musique percutante, claire et bien produite.
Un grand bol d’air que ce Day Of The Dead, du vrai rock très nature, énergique comme on l’aime ! Viva LOS BASTARDOS FINLANDESES !!!

This album which was released before The Day Of The Dead, and we are going to speak about it, was already excellent and came after 3 albums, the first only released in 2007. If you like pure rock, right in your face, which put fire all over around, you will be satisfied. Because these Finnish devils have great power and to describe them, we can tell that their music, their riffs, their melodies and even Bryn JONES‘voice, make us think of a mix of KISS and MOTORHEAD. It’s really this voice, clearly near from Lemmy’s voice, with very strong songs, which sound like in the 80’s and don’t bring us to melancholy, far from this surely. These « Finnish bastardos » have really rock in their veins and as we were pleased with the previous album Saved By Rock‘n’Roll, with this new one, they go on their rock road, always with this aggressiveness, this fever that they are able to produce. There is all in these certainly simple, creative and direct songs, always so efficient ! Relatively short (less than 4 minutes), they put fire everywhere with an extraordinary self-assurance : great guitars, catchy melodies, here is the reflection of these 10 titles. We can stand out The Day Of The Dead, Goddess Of The Valley even Forever The Desperado without forgetting Old Dog In The Rain, all very good with the beat. When you listen to this CD, you will be knocking down by this rock breath and you will want to listen to this strong, clear and well produced music, again and again.
Fresh air with this Day Of The Dead, really great and powerful rock, as we like ! Viva LOS BASTARDOS FINLANDESES !!!
