Ca craint quand même quand on lit ça, on dirait que ca va devenir Rodgers and Co, j'hallucine:redface:

9 titres déjà enregistré par Rodgers avec ses 2 compères, sortie prévue actuellement debut 2008, la suite de l'enregistrement cette automne, ils prennent leur temps, voici le point :

Paul Rodgers has told Gary Graff of Billboard.com that he "recorded some nine songs" with QUEEN members Brian May and Roger Taylor, and that there are plans to return to the studio in October to do some more work.

QUEEN guitarist Brian May wrote on his web site about this past weekend's Hyde Park Calling event in London, England where he witnessed performances by AEROSMITH and JOE SATRIANI, among others. An excerpt from May's posting follows:

"There is so much fake stuff around these days, people short-cutting, not knowing their trade, having no respect for their audience, playing to clicks, and in many cases feeding all recorded stuff from hard disc into the PA, for their fans to listen to — sometimes you are really listening to an entire pre-record — like a crap TV mime show, brought into an arena or a stadium. Sometimes recently I have felt ashamed of my business, the music business ... and I resist the temptation to write about it here, because I hate to slag other artists off ... Sometimes it's VERY hard to resist.

"But AEROSMITH brought back the smile to my face — brought back pride to me — these guys remind us that there IS still greatness out there ... there is still a band that is all real, and full of passion, and innovation, and courage, and brick-loads of polish too. This, to me, is the way it should be done. Some of it is what you ARE, and some it is what you DO. I know this art, this craft, this life, so I appreciate greatness in it all the more. These guys have been to the Wall and back, and it shows. Each one of them has devoted his life to his craft, like that great Carpenter I was talking about. And it shows. And for me, watching, I see all the elements that are rare and wonderful, and feel glad that my kids can see this, and I don't have to explain to them what REAL LIVE ROCK MUSIC is about.

"I loved every second. The most joyous thing about them is that they did NOT become SHOW-BIZ — they did NOT lose their roots. They are still treading that fine line between structure and improvisation, clean and dirty, love of what their music does, and love of it for itself, commercialism and art, fire and water, earth and air, light and shade. There will never be a rock group more all-round great than AEROSMITH [in my humble opinion]. "

The Times reports that Brian May, the multimillionaire guitarist who founded the rock group QUEEN, has finally completed the PhD in astrophysics that he abandoned more than 30 years ago.

The 59-year-old composer of hits such as "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "We Will Rock You" turned his back on the stars for international fame with Freddie Mercury and his band. His thesis on interplanetary dust clouds lay gathering dust of its own in the attic of his home in Surrey.

May's interest in the subject was rekindled last year when he co-authored a children's science book with the astronomer Sir Patrick Moore. He discovered that remarkably little research had been done in the intervening 33 years.

He dug out his old handwritten notes and spent nine months conducting further research at Imperial College, London, where he had studied before QUEEN hit the big time.

alka setzer

According to BrianMay.com, QUEEN guitarist Brian May this week resumes his scientific vocation after a interruption of 36 years.

May will carry out astronomical observations on 23 and 24 of July using the Telescopio Nacional Galileo (TNG), located in the Observatory of the Roque de Los Muchachos on the island of La Palma.

May, who completed a major part of his PhD studies in the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (IAC), will carry out spectroscopic observations in order to study the formation of the zodiacal dust cloud. The tiny particles of this interstellar dust reflect sunlight and produce a visible spectrum which can be detected in skies which are very dark and free from light contamination. The quality of the sky of La Palma and the benefits of the TNG have convinced May to choose the island as the key place for his investigations. The TNG is a 3.6 m optical telescope which allows astronomers to study extremely faint objects.

On October 29, 2007, Eagle Rock Entertainment will simultaneously release two incredible DVDs capturing the incomparable QUEEN in their pomp as the world's biggest band at a sold-out show in 1981 at Montreal's 18,000-seater Forum. The single 95-minute DVD is "Queen Rock Montreal", and there is a special edition double DVD "Queen Rock Montreal + Live Aid", clocking in at 138 minutes of footage. The live CD/LP from the concert is released on the same date on EMI with HD-DVD and Blu-ray versions to follow in November through Eagle.

Following their record-breaking South American tour, the Montreal shows on November 24 and 25, 1981 were to be the only concerts by QUEEN ever shot on film — indeed they were the first group to shoot an entire show in full cinema format 35mm. These releases offer the best ever sound and picture quality on a QUEEN concert release. Always a great live band, with two years non-stop touring behind them and Freddie Mercury in front of them, QUEEN excelled themselves with the cameras rolling. The footage has been digitally restored from the original film and the sound has been newly mixed and mastered for DTS Surround Sound and PCM Stereo from the original multi-track tapes.

"Hello Montreal...long time no see. You wanna get crazy?" asks Freddie as the band tear into their alternative "fast" version of "We Will Rock You", and from there on QUEEN show their hard rock roots, slowing down only for "Love of My Life" and the more mid-tempo "Under Pressure", notably being performed live for the first time in this concert.

The real joy to be had in watching Freddie, Brian, Roger and John performing here is that, unlike any other QUEEN concert film available, this delivers raw QUEEN. This is before the "Hot Space" album, before keyboards would find a place in the band's touring line up; this is simply four musicians in total cohesion.

Originally titled "We Will Rock You", this film was first launched at the Cannes Film Festival in May 1983 — as only QUEEN could. It was then released in North America (September 1984), becoming the first commercially available film of QUEEN in concert. For this special edition, the picture has been digitally restored from the original 35mm negative.

The double disc release offers the incredible bonus of a slew of Live Aid features and performances. Regularly polled as the greatest live performance of all time, QUEEN's mighty Live Aid show at 6:44pm on July 13, 1985, is here in full. In addition to the set that reinforced QUEEN's position as unrivalled rock entertainers, Freddie and Brian's performance later in the evening of the poignant "Is This The World We Created" is included. Also featured are 11 minutes of never before seen Live Aid rehearsal footage, plus a rehearsal interview with the band. In addition, there's the curiosity value of a 1982 news feature from U.S. TV series "PM Magazine". Brian May and Roger Taylor bring the story up to date with a brand new audio commentary on the Montreal concert.
